Overview
We are looking for an experienced IT Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain Securin’s internal and customer-facing network and virtualization infrastructure. This role focuses heavily on network security, firewall management, virtualization platforms, and infrastructure automation in a fast-paced cybersecurity company.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls (policies, VPNs, SD-WAN, threat prevention, threat prevention, HA clusters).
- Administer and optimize Proxmox VE clusters for internal lab, testing, and production virtualization environments.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible, PXE boot, scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), and Google Workspace administration scripting/API integration.
- Monitor network and system performance, proactively identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical network and infrastructure incidents.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for network designs, automation playbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices and internal policies.
Requirements
*This posting is based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be local or willing to commute.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and infrastructure administration.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise with Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls (configuration and management (NSE 4 or higher strongly preferred).
- Hands-on experience managing Proxmox VE clusters in production or lab environments.
- Proficiency with Ansible and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Deep understanding of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance troubleshooting.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications (preferred but not required)
- Fortinet NSE 4/5/6/7
- Red Hat Ansible Automation, Proxmox-related certifications
- CCNA/CCNP or equivalent
Working Conditions
- Full-time, hybrid (combination of remote and on-site in Albuquerque, NM)
- Occasional on-call and lifting of server/network hardware
