Detailed Job Description
- Lead and manage the organization’s compliance program, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations within the property and casualty insurance sector.
- Monitor and interpret evolving regulatory requirements, providing guidance to senior leadership on potential risks and the impact of new or changing laws.
- Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies across all operational areas.
- Ensure compliance risks are evaluated across key functions, including product development, underwriting, claims, and distribution channels.
- Research applicable laws and regulations and develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to minimize risk exposure.
- Support and execute additional strategic compliance initiatives as required by leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of compliance experience within the property and casualty insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, including state insurance codes, NAIC standards, and relevant federal regulations such as GLBA, HIPAA, and TCPA.
- Solid understanding of the insurance product lifecycle, including underwriting, policy issuance, and claims handling.
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk, develop compliance strategies, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and regulators.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
