Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) oversees the firm’s administrative and financial operations. The COO is an ex-officio member of the Firm’s Executive Committee and is responsible for driving operational excellence, strategic growth and organizational effectiveness within the firm. The COO works closely with the executive leadership team to implement strategic initiatives, optimize internal processes, and ensure the highest standards of service to clients.

Operational Leadership:
The Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) oversees the firm’s administrative and financial operations. The COO is an ex-officio member of the Firm’s Executive Committee and is responsible for driving operational excellence, strategic growth and organizational effectiveness within the firm. The COO works closely with the executive leadership team to implement strategic initiatives, optimize internal processes, and ensure the highest standards of service to clients.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
- Leads and directly oversees day-to-day operations, including financial management, human resources, technology, marketing, and administrative functions.
- Develops and implements operational strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Serves as ex-officio member of the Firm’s Executive Committee, facilitating and attending all regular and special Committee meetings.
- Provides advice to the Executive Committee on operations, financial and other matters.
- Serves on Firm Committees, providing vision, leadership, and administrative support.
- Play an integral role in facilitating and attending discussions on Partner and Staff compensation.
- Works closely with Controller to manage the Firm’s financial performance and budgetary processes.
- Develops and recommends strategies for improving Firm operations and financial performance.
- Implement cost-control measures and financial reporting systems to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Monitor financial health indicators and make data-driven recommendations for business decisions.
- Collaborate with Executive Committee to develop and execute the firm’s strategic plan.
- Conduct market analysis and assess industry trends to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
- Recommend and drive initiatives to expand market presence, client base, and services, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices.
- Mitigate operational and strategic risks through proactive risk management strategies.
- Acts as Liaison working with Firm General Counsel on highly sensitive Firm matters and communicating with insurance carriers as needed.
- Ensures adequate procedures and systems are in place which safeguard, track and secure Firm assets and risks to the Firm are minimized.
- Oversees and facilitates the renewal of the Firm’s insurance coverages including Professional Liability Insurance, Employer’s Professional Liability Insurance, Cyber Insurance, Director’s & Officers Liability Insurance, General Business Insurance and Worker’s Compensation Insurance.
- Works with Human Resources Director concerning employee benefits, including self-funded medical plan and stop loss insurance.
