Jones Day is seeking talented individuals to join our Intellectual Property (IP) patent prosecution group as IP Patent Prosecution Associates in Biological Sciences, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Organic Chemistry, and Bioinformatics & Computational Biology.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in relevant discipline, or a related field (required). Highly qualified candidates with a M.S. and several years of industry research experience may be considered.
- Must be registered to practice before the USPTO with a valid registration number and in good standing (required).
- Must be admitted to local state bar and in good standing (required).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear legal documents.
- Minimum of one (1) year of prior law firm or in-house patent prosecution experience in biotechnology is strongly preferred.

Expected Salary Range (Boston, CA and NYC): $225,000 - $495,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
