
The position also supports supplemental programming, including credit recovery, College Credit Plus, and transition planning, while coordinating communication, meetings, and documentation with external partners. Additionally, the Academic Advisor oversees the Resident Educator Program, LPDC processes, and teacher licensure support to promote staff development and student success. Responsibilities may vary across programs, Directors will provide specific guidance.
Educational Responsibilities
- Facilitate and oversee the IEP process, using diagnostic data as appropriate, including reviewing IEP planning sheets, developing district IEPs, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with IEP team members.
- Partner with district representatives and internal teams to complete Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs).
- Coordinate and complete Extended School Year (ESY) meetings; ensure all required documentation is submitted.
- Ensure compliance with ODEW graduation requirements, including internal tracking of student progress.
- Develop and update student course outlines annually.
- Oversee high school scheduling, ensuring alignment with course outlines and transcripts.
- A professional Intervention Specialist license through the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce (ODEW) with a minimum of 5 years of experience writing and overseeing IEPs.
- A Master's degree in Education or a related field is preferred. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
- Is a confident public speaker and a dedicated educator who keeps up to date on the latest tools and resources needed to improve employee training and performance.
