Position Summary

The Sweeper Operator is responsible for operating sweeping equipment to maintain clean, safe, and well-presented commercial properties. This role involves driving sweep trucks, performing routine inspections, and supporting field operations to ensure services are completed efficiently and in accordance with company safety standards.

Success in this position is defined by safe equipment operation, reliability, and consistent service quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate sweep trucks and related equipment to clean parking lots, roadways, and curbs
  • Use backpack blowers and hand tools to remove debris from areas inaccessible to sweep trucks
  • Load and unload materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Drive company vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition
  • Maintain accurate logs of inspections, service activities, and any incidents
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient service of assigned properties
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of surroundings during operations

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required
  • Experience operating sweepers or similar equipment preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
  • Ability to operate equipment such as backpack blowers for extended durations
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise

Work Environment

This role is performed primarily outdoors on active job sites and involves operating commercial vehicles and equipment. Work hours may include nights, weekends, and varying shifts based on operational needs.

Compensation

$24.00 – $26.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
