As the Building Engineer, you are responsible for the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the community and grounds. This position must ensure the community meets all life safety and regulatory compliance requirements. Supported by our experienced Regional and Corporate teams, you’ll help cultivate a culture of collaboration and excellence. Your Typical Responsibilities

  • Ensures the building maintenance program is well maintained and ensures all company housekeeping standards are met
  • Ensures all life safety code requirements for assisted living and memory care communities are met and maintains documentation to support
  • Manages electronic work order system & completes or delegates repairs as needed
  • Coordinates with outside vendors as needed for maintenance & supplies
  • Conducts apartment inspections and coordinates make-ready process
  • Responds to after-hours maintenance related emergency calls
  • Manages Building Engineer Assistant and Housekeepers
  • Collaborate with community leadership, regional teams, and corporate support to align with organizational goals.
  • Lead staffing efforts, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, coaching, employee training, and task delegation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read building blueprints
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience strongly preferred in Assisted Living, Senior Living, Hotels or Multi-Family Housing
  • Demonstrated successful use of technology in the workplace including MS Office and electronic work order systems like TELS
  • Ability to work flexible schedules in 24 hour operation including weekends as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
