This role will work alongside a team of consultants to create custom tax savings strategies for clients.

Modern Tax Group, LLC is seeking to hire a Business Personal Property Tax Consultant. This role will work alongside a team of consultants to create custom tax savings strategies for clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual Business Personal Property renditions and reconcile clients’ fixed assets and financials
  • Review assessments and file appeals as necessary
  • Negotiate valuations with local appraisers while creating supporting documentation for hearings
  • Process annual property tax bills and assist in billing preparation
  • Maintain client data in a Property Tax software database
  • Retain client relationships with a focus on minimizing property tax liabilities
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests from taxing authorities


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or business
  • Licensed Property Tax Consultant by the Texas Board of Licensing and Regulation
  • 3-5 years of consulting experience
  • Understanding of Property Tax laws, exemptions, and abatements throughout the United States
  • Experience with Property Tax software (PTMS, OneSource, or SigerTax)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
