Job Description

POSITION: Laborer

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Team Leader

SUPERVISES: N/A

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

Responsibilities

  • General labor on job locations
  • Set up and dismantle work site
  • Flag traffic
  • Signal Operators when moving equipment
  • Hand Digging (shoveling) entrance and exit pits along with locating existing utilities
  • Comply with proper safety standards and expectations
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

Requirements

  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Class A license desired
  • Able to perform safe work practices daily
  • Able to lift, push, pull and carry at least 75 lbs. for a distance of 300 feet
  • Able to work some nights and weekends
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Ability to work outdoors
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Pass a drug screen and background check
  • Knowledge of electrical utility work preferred
  • Able to stand, kneel and work in confined spaces for an extended period of time

Working Conditions

This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, this role works in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
