Job Summary And Qualifications
- Demonstrate the ability to obtain quality MRI images of patients.
- Complies with MRI safety guidelines for patients, staff and self.
- Operates MRI equipment safety including screening all patients for contraindications.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations.
- Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner and always identifies patients utilizing the proper protocols.
- Prepare MRI scanner and perform quality control tests.
- Assist the radiology nurse or radiologist in administering medication, contrast agents, and all types of care to the patient during MRI procedures.
- Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images.
- Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients.
- Completes and maintains educational requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
- Required: Minimum of 1 year experience as MRI Technologist.
- Preferred: Multiple years’ experience as a certified staff MRI Technologist
- Required: Graduate of accredited approved School of Radiologic Technology. Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.
- Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technology OR ARRT-MRI Technology (6-month grace period) OR American Registry of MRI Technology ARMRIT (6-month grace period)
- BLS for Healthcare Providers through AHA or CPR through American Red Cross (30-day grace period)
- Preferred: American Society of Radiologic Technology Virginia Society of Radiologic Technology
