Registered Nurse (RN)

This is not a remote role. Applicants must be able to report to work on time as scheduled.

Position: Registered Nurse

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: Starting at $43/hour

Experience: Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.

Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or a graduate of an approved RN program.

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description

• Participate in the admission, discharge, and transfer of residents as required.
• Observe changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and the resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to the medical record and carries out orders as written.
• Prepare and administer medications as per physicians’ orders and observe for adverse effects.
• Schedule follow-up appointments for residents and transportation needs as indicated.
• Provide nursing leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit.
• Handle scheduled and as-needed assessments of residents’ conditions and reports and documents accordingly.
• Report any incidents or unusual occurrences to the supervisor, unit manager, assistant director, or nursing director.
• Ensure there is adequate stock of medications, supplies, and equipment, and notify appropriate personnel of needs.
• Provide direct care, perform rounds, and collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team as needed.
• Initiates, reviews, and updates care plans as required.

Position Requirements

• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Hawaii.
• Current BLS/CPR certification and TB skin test.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
