Job Description
- Participate in the admission, discharge, and transfer of residents as required.
- Observe changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and the resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
- Transcribes physician orders to the medical record and carries out orders as written.
- Prepare and administer medications as per physicians’ orders and observe for adverse effects.
- Schedule follow-up appointments for residents and transportation needs as indicated.
- Provide nursing leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit.
- Handle scheduled and as-needed assessments of residents’ conditions and reports and documents accordingly.
- Report any incidents or unusual occurrences to the supervisor, unit manager, assistant director, or nursing director.
- Ensure there is adequate stock of medications, supplies, and equipment, and notify appropriate personnel of needs.
- Provide direct care, perform rounds, and collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team as needed.
- Initiates, reviews, and updates care plans as required.
- Other duties as assigned
- Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Hawaii.
- Current BLS/CPR certification and TB skin test.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
