The Payroll Assistant will assist with the payroll processes and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. In this role, you will help run payroll functions, maintain accurate financial records, and collaborate with the HR and Finance teams to support the employees’ needs. Responsible for various specific duties including processing of Payroll, quarterly reports, W-2's and tax account reconciliations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assists in processing and managing payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Responds to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and taxation.
  • Maintains employee records, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
  • Support the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing payroll reports (e.g. month/year end account reconciliations) and documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to ensure employee data is accurate, up to date, and receive necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations in a multijurisdictional arena.
  • Stay up to date on changes with payroll laws and regulations.
  • Functions effectively in a Matrix Management environment.
  • Completes any duties and special assignments as requested.

Experience, Education, And Certifications

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, or related field required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or related preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Qualifications

  • General knowledge and experience with payroll systems
  • ADP Workforce Now Required
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to pay close attention to details

Physical Requirements

  • May include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods
  • May include performing repetitive tasks
  • May include working on a special schedule (i.e. evenings and weekends)
  • May include working with challenging patients and clients
  • May include lifting up to 25 pounds
