Omnia Healthcare Group is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their team! The Accounting Assistant will provide essential support to the finance team by ensuring the accuracy and organization of financial documentation. This role involves categorizing invoices, organizing large amounts of data, maintaining schedules, and performing basic reconciliations to support smooth accounting operations. This role is on-site at our Lincolnwood, Illinois office, Monday through Friday. Standard hours are from 9:00am-5:00pm.

Accounting Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and organizing payroll reports on SharePoint in accordance with the facility payroll calendars.
  • Responsible for maintaining Medicaid Cost Report workpapers for assigned homes monthly, inclusive of preparing schedules and maintaining invoice back-up for applicable general ledger accounts.
  • Review the legal general ledger monthly for all facilities, pull invoices and create a detailed schedule to summarize our YTD activity.
  • Review credit card allocations monthly and pull receipts for applicable expenses.
  • Assist with ACH enrollments and deposit verifications.
  • Perform reconciliations and resolve outstanding balances for assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with year-end closing processes, ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP, and internal policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist in the preparation of requested documentation for all financial and regulatory audits and inquiries.
  • Perform all other duties & projects, as assigned.


Accounting Assistant Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain discretion regarding personnel and industry-related matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be fast learner with proactive attitude.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organization skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail and accuracy/proficiency in data entry


Accounting Assistant Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum: 1-3 years related work experience


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, carry and move items of at least 15 pounds
  • Must be able to sit, walk and stand; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone
  • Must be able to use hands repetitively to handle / operate standard office equipment
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms
