The company is a full-service builder offering preconstruction consulting, general contracting, and construction management services on multifamily and adaptive reuse projects throughout Southern California. They are seeking to add a valued Design Manager to our growing Design and Construction team.
Key Responsibilities
- Bridge the gap between the design teams and construction operations
- Advocate for owner/contractor's interest, while preserving the design intent
- Manage the flow of information between the Design Teams and Construction Team
- Translate owner/contractor's desires into actionable directives
- Participate in Pre-construction planning
- Participate in Value Engineering exercise
- Participate in Constructability Review
- Participate in BIM coordination
- Oversees the RFI and Submittal process
- BA or BS of Architecture, B. Arch or M. Arch degree preferred
- At least 3 years of professional experience at the architecture firm or construction firm
- Must have had Construction Administration experience
- Excellent proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with construction management software - Procore or similar
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp is a plus
- Understands cost, schedule, and buildability
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Able to multitask and work on different scopes at the same time
- Able to work with different scales, from entire building down to the details
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Has a critical eye for design, quality, and details
