Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is a varied position that requires a high degree of judgment and an independent, technically-able thinker who understands accounting reporting standards (GAAP), corporate reporting, personal computer spreadsheets and other software packages, and internal control administration. This is the most senior skill level without supervisory responsibility. Position may provide functional advice or training to less experienced financial analyst positions.

The ideal candidate will possess: (1) accounting and financial functional experience in a manufacturing environment (2) intermediate-to-advanced level understanding of accounting and close processes (3) support in tax filing and other tax matters, need a general understanding of business tax practices (4) displays a high level of initiative; invites, challenges, is naturally inclusive and collaborative and explores new ideas while understanding and communicating risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the fiscal closing process including closing journal entries and subledgers timely and accurately and in accordance with GAAP. This includes analysis, interpretation and reporting of budget and actual variance and financial results.
  • Perform general accounting duties including, but not limited to, balance sheet reconciliations and accruals for payroll, benefits, and marketing. Take ownership of assigned accounts, identify issues, and report to management any concerns that could affect the integrity of the financial statements.
  • Participates in special projects on group-wide initiatives, process simplification and company-specific projects.

Education/Aptitude

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
  • Requires 2+ years of experience, preferably within manufacturing & industrial products industry
  • Advanced Excel skills and either knowledge of Power BI, OneStream, and Oracle Fusion or ability to understand ERP systems quickly
