The Executive Director provides strategic leadership for the Belmont University Center for Interprofessional Engagement and Simulation (BUCIES), overseeing a high-performing team that delivers state-of-the-art, interprofessional simulation-based learning across multiple health disciplines. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Research and Strategic Initiatives, the Director partners with university and community stakeholders to advance simulation, educational innovation, and interdisciplinary engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
Define and direct the strategic vision and mission of BUCIES, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and clearly communicating it to leadership, affiliated colleges, and partners.
Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of simulation and simulation-leadership courses for undergraduate and graduate health professionals, meeting accreditation standards and learner outcomes.
Cultivate partnerships with internal units and external partners—regional health systems, academic programs, and vendors—and represent the Center in professional, clinical, and academic settings.
Lead personnel management, including hiring, onboarding, professional development, performance, compensation, and separation, fostering a collaborative and accountable team.
Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and safety requirements, and direct the Center budget, including expenditures, resource allocation, revenue generation, and long-range financial sustainability.

Requirements
Education
- Master’s degree in a relevant field required.
- Terminal degree in a clinical, educational, or scientific field preferred.
- 10–15 years of clinical, educational, and/or scientific experience required.
- More than 15 years preferred.
- Analytical Thinking: Identify issues, gather and compare data from multiple sources, and develop alternative solutions.
- Critical Thinking: Use independent reasoning to diagnose root causes, test solutions, and weigh impact in decisions and recommendations.
- Project/Program Management: Coordinate program activities, manage resources, and assess risk and quality.
- Communication: Present clearly to individuals and groups in writing and verbally; listen and respond effectively; and influence others toward strategic objectives.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software.
- Work Environment: Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment that demands hard work.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
