Rate of Pay: $40 per hour
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in our PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges by facilitating health-related education, conducting health assessments, administering prescribed medications and injections, and collaborating with medical providers. This position also includes providing individual health teaching, obtaining medication authorizations, and managing medical emergencies, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive environment for all program participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Health Education and Teaching:
- Facilitate health-related educational groups that focus on wellness, medication management, and health promotion for individuals in recovery.
- Provide individualized health teaching to program participants, addressing topics such as chronic disease management, medication adherence, and general well-being.
- Health Assessments:
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments for program participants, evaluating vital signs, medical histories, and physical health needs.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to address health concerns that may impact mental health treatment or recovery.
- Medication Management:
- Obtain prior authorizations for prescription medications as needed to ensure continued access to medications.
- Administer prescribed injections and monitor for any side effects or adverse reactions.
- Collaboration with Medical Providers:
- Coordinate and collaborate with medical providers, including physicians and specialists, to ensure a holistic, integrated approach to patient care.
- Communicate patient progress and concerns effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
- Documentation:
- Complete all required documentation for the caseload, including monthly summary notes, individual session notes, Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs), and health assessments.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Emergency Response:
- In the event of a medical emergency, assess the situation, take vital signs, and provide immediate care as necessary.
- Coordinate additional medical assistance or emergency services when required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with adults in mental health or a closely related field (e.g., behavioral health, substance use treatment).
- Must have a reliable working vehicle and a valid, clean driver’s license.
- A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) with an active RN license.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, managing multiple tasks and patients effectively.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience with health assessments, patient education, and medication management.
- Knowledge of behavioral health issues, medications, and treatments commonly prescribed in outpatient settings.
