Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Meat Packer to join Baldor’s Golden Meat division. This role is responsible for accurately packing and preparing a variety of meat products for distribution while maintaining strict food safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well as part of a team, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, prepare, and pack various cuts of meat according to customer orders
Accurately weigh, label, and package products for distribution
Ensure all products meet quality and food safety standards
Operate machinery and equipment used in meat preparation and packaging
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
Learn and identify different cuts of meat and their packaging requirements
Support team operations and cross-train in different areas of the department
Follow all company policies and procedures, including HACCP, GMP, SOP, and SSOP standards
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in meat packing, butchery, or food production preferred
Ability to read labels, record weights, and follow instructions accurately
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs or more on a regular basis
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and kneeling
Repetitive hand movements including grasping, pushing, and pulling
Ability to work in a cold and wet environment
Work Environment:
Onsite role at Golden Meat facility in the Bronx
Cold environment with temperatures ranging from approximately 36°F to 38°F
Fast-paced production setting
Exposure to loud machinery and equipment
Schedule Requirements:
Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
