Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager
- Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliation processes
- Oversee project accounting activities, including WIP reporting and revenue recognition
- Manage and mentor accounting staff while supporting team development
- Review financial results, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to leadership
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
- Coordinate audit support and maintain accurate financial documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements and accounting efficiencies
- Partner with operational leaders on special projects and business initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
- AEC industry experience required
- Deltek Vantagepoint experience required
- Strong understanding of project accounting, WIP reporting, and financial reporting
- Experience managing month-end close and leading accounting operations
- Proven ability to mentor staff and drive process improvements
- CPA preferred but not required
- Hybrid with a 3/2 schedule
