Major Gifts Officer

Full-Time

Based in Winter Park, FL. Hybrid In-Office and Remote. This role will travel throughout FL and the US at least 50% of the time.

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 plus benefits

Position Summary

The Major Gifts Officer focuses on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding philanthropic support that fuels Cannonball Kids’ cancer Foundation’s mission to fund innovative pediatric cancer research and education for change. This role builds meaningful relationships with individuals, families, and corporate partners who are passionate about accelerating new treatments for children fighting cancer.

The Major Gifts Officer works closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement strategies that grow and sustain CKc’s community of major donors. This role manages a portfolio of prospects and supporters, guiding them through thoughtful engagement and stewardship opportunities that connect their generosity to the life-changing research they make possible.

They are energized by meeting new people, communicating impact, and helping donors see the tangible difference their support makes in advancing innovative research for children fighting cancer.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors
• Develop individualized strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors
• Conduct donor meetings, calls, and outreach to deepen relationships and inspire philanthropic investment
• Identify new prospects through community engagement, events, and existing donor networks
• Partner with the Executive Director to develop and implement major gift strategies
• Support sponsorship and philanthropic partnerships connected to special events and initiatives
• Work closely with the communications and program teams to share meaningful impact stories with donors
• Ensure thoughtful stewardship of donors through recognition, updates, and engagement opportunities
• Support the development team in achieving annual fundraising goals
• Participate in events, donor gatherings, and community opportunities that advance CKc’s visibility and mission

Our mission is to fund innovative, accessible research for children fighting cancer to provide better treatments and quality of life, and to educate for change. In 2025, CKc invested more than $1.2 million in research grants including $800,000 awarded to new projects to be paid out over the next three years.
