Job Summary
Nation's Infusion at Home is seeking a full-time, experienced Home Infusion Pharmacist for our office in Owings Mills. Candidates must be licensed in Maryland; current DC license is preferred, but candidates without it will need to apply for it within 3 months of hire. The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5 PM with minimal rotating on-call requirements.
This role is responsible for overseeing sterile compounding operations and ensuring the safe, accurate preparation of compounded infusion therapies in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, including USP and . The Infusion Pharmacist supervises compounding staff, verifies and releases finished products, and maintains cleanroom environments and equipment to meet strict quality and safety requirements.
In addition to operational oversight, this position plays a key clinical role in evaluating the appropriateness of infusion therapies, developing patient-specific care plans, and collaborating with prescribers and care teams to optimize outcomes. The pharmacist provides education to patients and caregivers, monitors therapy effectiveness, and proactively identifies and resolves medication-related issues.
The Infusion Pharmacist ensures accurate dispensing and coordination of medication delivery, maintains inventory and supply levels, and supports the use of pharmacy technology and infusion equipment. Responsibilities include participation in quality assurance initiatives, regulatory compliance, and accreditation readiness, as well as thorough documentation and adherence to all legal and ethical standards.
This position offers the opportunity to mentor pharmacy technicians, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, while maintaining ongoing professional development and licensure requirements.
Requirements
At least 1 year of experience in a home infusion environment or at least 2 years of relevant experience as a pharmacistStrong knowledge base in sterile IV admixture procedures, medication therapy management, and home infusion servicesCompetent in the use of pharmacokinetic principles & formulas and assessing patient laboratory valuesAbility to problem solve and work in a high stress environmentExperience with procurement and inventory management of medicationsAbility to train and supervise pharmacy techniciansProficient with software including, but limited to, O365 and EMR systemsExcellent problem solving, organization, and communication skillsAbility to exercise sound independent judgmentStrong working knowledge of USP and standards, aseptic technique, and infusion therapy managementCurrent Maryland Pharmacist license in good standing and the ability to maintain required licensure; ability to receive a DC pharmacist license. Ability to work the required schedule, including an on-call rotation which may include weekends, evenings, and overnights.PHYSICAL WORK CONDITIONS Ability to work in an office environment or remotely, depending on project needsProlonged periods of sitting and working on a computerHandling hazardous chemicals/medicationsWorking in a clean room
Salary $117K to $152K dependent on experience and internal equity
