Education / Training

  • On-site role at one of three Houston-area campuses: Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands (we provide relocation assistance)
  • $100,000 annual salary distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage starts on day one

When a student reaches 99% of their target, the most meaningful response is to insist they complete the final 1%. If that expectation feels harsh, this position won't be a good fit. If it energizes you—because you understand that maintaining high standards is how you demonstrate belief in a student's capability—read on.

Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full academic day in roughly two hours using adaptive software. No traditional lectures. No printed textbooks. Your responsibility is what technology cannot replicate: coaching students from Pre-K through 8th grade on essential life competencies including public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. You'll spend half your time facilitating hands-on workshops guided by structured playbooks and narrative techniques. The remaining half involves working with students individually or in small groups, analyzing their adaptive learning data via Coachbot analytics, and driving them toward 100% completion of weekly objectives. Mastery is validated through Test2Pass assessments rather than participation metrics.

During your first year, you'll manage a student cohort and internalize Alpha's methodology: life skill workshops, motivational coaching sessions, and mastery-driven assessments. Once you demonstrate consistent ability to hold every student accountable to 100% goal completion while maintaining satisfaction scores above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes possible—a role where you mentor other Guides while remaining directly engaged with students. Top performers don't merely impact individual students; they influence campus-wide culture and operations.

If you've dedicated years to coaching, counseling, or mentoring young people and have longed to eliminate traditional instruction in favor of developmental support, this opportunity is designed for you.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skill workshops for Pre-K through 8th grade students covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and feedback exchange (activity-based and project-oriented)
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group motivational sessions in which you examine student progress within adaptive learning platforms (leveraging Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and drive them toward 100% weekly goal attainment
  • Overseeing and assessing Test2Pass evaluations to verify genuine life skill mastery rather than mere participation
  • Adjusting your coaching approach across diverse developmental stages, from Pre-K learners requiring energetic and kinesthetic engagement to 8th graders needing direct accountability conversations
  • Cultivating authentic connections with each student so they develop sufficient trust to receive coaching through moments of resistance, distraction, and uncertainty

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering lectures or conventional academic instruction (core subject learning occurs through adaptive applications, not direct teaching from you)
  • Developing lesson plans or original curriculum (Alpha supplies structured life skills playbooks; your role is to execute them with enthusiasm and narrative skill)
  • Handling parent communications or administrative duties (Campus Leads oversee these functions; you remain concentrated on student development)
  • Evaluating homework assignments or preparing students for standardized exams (these elements are absent from our model)
  • Operating independently (you function within a campus team alongside Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability)

Academic Coach Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that every student in your cohort develops a love for school, achieves mastery of critical life skills, and reaches 100% of their academic objectives through adaptive learning technology.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience with Pre-K–8 students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership capacities)
  • Demonstrated experience motivating or coaching Pre-K–8 students toward academic, behavioral, or extracurricular objectives, including at least one concrete example you can articulate (the objective, your actions, and the result)
  • Regular daily use of generative AI platforms (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude)
  • Availability for in-person work at Alpha's Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands campus location (relocation assistance available)
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, camp facilitation, or after-school programming where you held direct accountability for motivating children toward defined objectives
  • History of significant personal accomplishment (academic distinctions, competitive athletics, or leadership positions requiring consistent high performance)
  • Innate storytelling capability: you can maintain the attention of a room full of 12-year-olds for an hour without volume escalation
  • Success in motivating disengaged or reluctant students and converting them into active, engaged learners
