Description

Work alongside other passionate individuals to support and enrich the lives of our children and families in our community. The YMCA is currently hiring part time and full time Teacher Aides.

The Southeast Family YMCA is an approved Pilot Site for Preschool For All starting in the Fall of 2024. Preschool For All is a Multnomah County funded program looking to connect 3 and 4 year olds with free, culturally responsive, inclusive preschool experience.

Job Responsibilities

A Teacher will work in the program under the guidance and instruction of the Lead Teacher an Site Director. Responsibilities include assisting lead staff in maintaining a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, implementing a fun and engaging curriculum, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and the community.

Requirements

  • Pass a YMCA Background Check
  • Meet all Teacher's Aide or Teacher standards as dictated by Oregon's Department of Early Learning and Care and Preschool for All including reaching a Step 4 or higher in the Oregon Registry - Please include this with your application if possible
  • Current enrollment in the Oregon State Childcare Registry or ability to enroll prior to employment.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Current Food Handlers certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • At least 18 years of age
