Summary

This position is located within the Centralized Lung Cancer Screening Program within the VA Portland Health Care System - Division of Hospital and Specialty Medicine.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS 7) in Federal Service that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge - skills - and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position - and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: serving as a resource person in planning - reviewing or revising policies and procedures; working collaboratively with the healthcare system managers in the implementation of lung cancer screening; developing strategies for program development and implementation; developing practices to monitor workload capture and coding; and monitoring quality improvement measures. -OR- SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D. - if related -OR- COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): I have equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate-level education (beyond 18 semester hours) and specialized experience - as described above - which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. The education portion must include graduate courses directly related to the work of this position. Duties

  • ***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION - YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include but may not be limited to: Implements changes in the delivery of patient care related to lung cancer screening
  • Report shortfalls and provide suggestions
  • Develops local practices to monitor workload capture and coding
  • Interact with a wide variety of staff and customers demonstrating sensitivity to and understanding of their needs
  • Ensure patient's safety and dignity
  • Participate and facilitate multi-site coordination and problem resolution
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday - 7:30am - 4:00pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm
