What you’ll do: Research and development has active projects in the field of material science. Research Engineers and Specialists assist in the development of one of the following active areas: adhesives, composites, sound adsorption, and expandable materials. Working closely with other engineers and Scientists daily, we work to bring unique material solutions to our customers.
Duties / Responsibilities of this position:
- Create new technologies and solutions through a technically fundamental and sound approach.
- Work with a team to plan and lead execution of development and testing protocols to explore modes of problem solution or routes of new product or technology creation.
- Maintain and expand expertise in a set of scientific areas, including physical, chemical, analytical, or formulation principles and methods.
- Maintain accurate experimental records.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge via presentations (internal and external).
- Cultivate global collaboration in the internal and external scientific community.
- Serve as a champion of safety practices in the laboratory and office environments.
- Very competent with self-directed work.
- Construction, maintenance, and safety responsibilities for laboratory workspace and equipment.
- Stay up to date within the field of expertise.
- Attend trade shows and technical conferences.
- Visit customers.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- BS or MS in the sciences, typically in the chemical, material, and engineering sciences.
- Will consider equivalent professional experience in lieu of formal degree.
- Experience may range from fresh graduate to experience in industry.
- Very adept at maintaining and improving safety requirements in the laboratory and workspace
- Versed in scientific methods and laboratory apparatus.
