Description
Tesco Controls is seeking a SCADA Engineer I that will be responsible for the design, configuration, startup, testing, and commissioning of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems used to monitor and control water and wastewater treatment processes. This role works closely with customers and internal teams to deliver reliable, well-documented automation solutions while supporting troubleshooting, training, and system optimization efforts.
Requirements
What you will do:
- Configure and set up SCADA hardware and software systems for water and wastewater applications
- Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) and functional testing of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems prior to deployment
- Develop engineered solutions to address customer requirements and resolve operational issues
- Modify and support PLC and HMI applications in field environments
- Troubleshoot control system, software, and hardware issues and implement corrective solutions
- Document project progress, technical changes, and issues; communicate status to the department manager
- Write trip reports and provide daily work and activity reports
- Train customers on the operation of SCADA systems and company products, including performing in-house simulations
- Apply standard engineering practices and ensure compliance with project and company guidelines
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects
- Understand, assess, and diagnose client problems to determine appropriate technical solutions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Strong knowledge of SCADA systems and platforms such as Wonderware, Wonderware System Platform, Ignition, Clear SCADA, VTScada, or similar
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and system communications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Working knowledge of computer hardware and network components
- Ability to troubleshoot complex control system and networking issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project-based environment
- Associate’s degree in a related technical field with 1–5 years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience with Visual Basic and Microsoft SQL Server preferred
- This position may require travel for field work, system commissioning, and customer training
- Work may be performed in office, industrial, or outdoor environments, including water and wastewater facilities

Pay offered will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and geographic location. We may pay more or less than the range based on the person’s qualifications. In good faith we believe the range is what we will pay for this role at the time of the posting and may change in the future. In addition, Tesco offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vacation, holidays, and 100% 401K match of your contributions up to 4% of your earnings.
