
Position Overview
The HR Generalist will serve as a key member of the People Operations team, overseeing critical HR systems, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes. - Administer and optimize HR systems, payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Manage multi-state and international payroll operations while coordinating with external providers and partners as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international employment requirements, including registrations, reporting, and leave regulations.
- Coordinate employee visa and immigration processes in partnership with outside counsel and serve as an employee-facing resource.
- Lead benefits administration activities, including employee support and annual open enrollment.
- Maintain employment documentation and records for employees, contractors, and international team members.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve HR processes, automate workflows, and deliver an exceptional employee experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or a related field, preferably within a high-growth or startup environment.
- Strong experience administering HRIS platforms, payroll, benefits, and employee lifecycle processes; advanced Rippling experience highly preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-state employment laws, payroll practices, and compliance requirements; California experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting visa and immigration processes in coordination with external legal counsel.
- Familiarity with international employment models, global workforce operations, and cross-border compliance considerations.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Hybrid opportunity based in South San Francisco, California.
