Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Tax Accountant to join their growing public accounting team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys both technical tax work and client interaction. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with business owners, executives, and controllers while developing expertise in complex tax engagements and advancing within a clearly defined career path.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze tax returns for individuals, trusts, corporations, and partnerships.
- Gather client information and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tax preparation and compliance.
- Review financial records and historical tax data for completeness and accuracy.
- Communicate professionally with clients to obtain required information and address tax-related inquiries.
- Work directly with business owners, CEOs, and financial leaders of small and mid-sized companies.
- Assist with tax planning, compliance, and research projects.
- Participate in business networking events and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and client service.
- Collaborate closely with team members in a highly interactive office environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited U.S. university.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on tax preparation experience within a CPA firm.
- Knowledge of individual, partnership, corporate, and trust taxation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic to intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, onsite environment.
