Title: Mechanical Engineer

Hire Type: Contract to direct hire

Compensation: $40/hr to $50/hr

Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for conceptualizing and designing automated equipment in accordance with customer and internal specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design cam, servo, and air-operated stations, and modify existing designs.
  • Execute cam (drive) design.
  • Ensure designs are functional, robust, and cost-effective.
  • Incorporate standards and regulatory requirements using innovation and good judgment.
  • Research and specify appropriate materials and purchased components.
  • Create detailed drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials, organize release packages, and update drawings.
  • Participate in internal and customer design reviews.
  • Prepare pneumatic and timing diagrams and select appropriate sensors.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop functional and economical design solutions.
  • Adhere to project schedules and budgets.
  • Solve design or detail issues and update relevant documentation.
  • Communicate ideas and comprehend information both verbally and in written form.
  • Integrate well within a team, demonstrating objectivity and openness to other views.
  • Follow policies and procedures to meet ISO 9001 certification requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal and international standards.
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employee work-from-home policy.
  • Set and maintain departmental goals aligned with company objectives.
  • Support and participate in the quality management program.
  • Provide necessary documentation and support for machinery operating manuals.
  • Make recommendations for quality and cost improvements.
  • Stay current with product developments.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications:

  • College degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-6 years of automation machine design experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD systems.
