Job Description: Seeking an experienced System Architect to support enterprise-level modernization and digital transformation initiatives through the design, planning, and implementation of scalable technology solutions. The ideal candidate will lead enterprise architecture efforts, develop long-term technology roadmaps, and collaborate with technical and business teams to align infrastructure modernization strategies with organizational objectives. This role requires expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cloud environments, disaster recovery planning, .NET platform upgrades, COTS implementations, and modernization of enterprise systems. The candidate will serve as a technical leader across multiple projects, perform infrastructure assessments, develop architecture documentation, conduct cost-benefit analysis, and support executive-level reporting to guide strategic technology decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead for enterprise-level modernization and strategic initiatives
Develop enterprise technology roadmaps with implementation milestones and execution strategies
Conduct .NET cluster upgrades and support modernization of COTS solutions
Document existing infrastructure environments and modernization requirements
Create As-Is and To-Be architecture documentation and perform gap analysis
Develop cloud migration plans and supporting technical documentation
Lead enterprise infrastructure modernization and transformation initiatives
Provide weekly project status updates, risk reports, and technical recommendations to leadership
Review and support disaster recovery planning and resiliency initiatives
Develop technical standards frameworks and enterprise integration strategies
Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, infrastructure policies, and security requirements
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to technical teams
Support operational activities across enterprise infrastructure teams
Conduct technical training and knowledge transfer sessions when required

Additional Responsibilities

Coordinate on-boarding activities with department leadership and project management teams
Complete required background verification and organizational security training
Attend project meetings, planning sessions, and departmental training activities
Prepare weekly status reports, project updates, and required documentation
Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and technical programming teams
Support strategic planning initiatives and enterprise operational goals
Assist leadership with technology investment recommendations and cost analysis
Resolve technical challenges and support cross-functional team collaboration

Required Skills

10+ years of infrastructure and solution architecture experience
7+ years of lead-level technical architecture experience
7+ years leading enterprise technical teams and modernization initiatives
7+ years of experience managing enterprise multi-tenant cloud environments
Experience developing enterprise technology roadmaps and modernization plans
Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure architecture and cloud technologies
Experience performing .NET cluster upgrades and platform modernization activities
Strong disaster recovery planning and infrastructure resiliency experience
Experience conducting cost-benefit analysis for enterprise technology initiatives
Ability to manage multiple complex enterprise projects simultaneously
Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and mentoring abilities
Experience documenting infrastructure architecture, standards, and technical frameworks
Strong collaboration experience with business stakeholders and technical teams

Qualifications

Strong technical leadership and enterprise architecture expertise preferred
Strong negotiation, mediation, and stakeholder management skills preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities required
Solutions-oriented mindset with proactive problem-solving capabilities preferred
Experience collaborating with programming, development, and infrastructure teams preferred
Experience supporting enterprise government environments preferred

Certifications

AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred
Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals preferred
