Essential Functions
- Oversee timely and accurate completion of monthly and quarterly financial close activities.
- Conduct thorough reviews of all balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Supervise accounting for capital assets, construction in progress (CIP), and treasury functions.
- Maintain financial reporting standards and ensure adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and improve internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Serve as the lead for audits including single audits, grant compliance, and other external financial reviews.
- Develop annual management discussion and analysis and other required public financial disclosures.
- Oversee external billing and collections processes unrelated to patient services.
- Lead workforce planning, cross-training, and professional development initiatives for accounting staff.
Bachelor's degree: Accounting, Finance or related field
Certification
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Work Experience And Additional Information
Five (5) years of progressive financial experience, with at least 3 years of equivalent leadership experience. Experience in financial accounting and reporting
Technical Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, financial statement preparation, consolidations, and capital accounting.
- Ability to independently resolve complex accounting issues using advanced quantitative and qualitative techniques.
- Skilled in designing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls, asset capitalization, and audit readiness.
- Strong organizational skills to manage monthly close cycles, reporting deadlines, and ad hoc requests efficiently.
- Ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences including team members, operational leaders, and senior management.
- Experience in workforce planning, cross-training, and mentoring staff to ensure high performance and continuous growth.
