2026 Summer Intern - Roche Tissue Diagnostics

Department Summary
RTD PHCS Development is to develop diagnostic products of the highest quality which ensure that every cancer patient receives the most beneficial treatment option through targeted therapy. The diagnostic products are based on immunohistochemistry technology and on the automated instrument platforms.
This internship position is located in Tucson, on-site.
The Opportunity
- The intern may use AI tools and approaches to help advance some PHCS processes or process improvements
- The intern may have the opportunity to complete an individual research project. Such an intern project may encompass planning, designing, and execution, analyzing the resulting data and presenting the results to an interdisciplinary audience
- The intern may participate in studies and experiments to develop and characterize immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining reagents and assays on automated tissue staining platforms
- The intern may be part of the project team and may engage in studies for feasibility or verification work
- Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship
- Program start dates are in May/June 2026
- A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship
- Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects
- Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry
Required Education
You meet one of the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
- Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
- Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
Minimum required experience:
- Proficient on computer skills, including emailing, chatting, online meetings and Microsoft Office etc
- Have wet laboratory working experience
- Have knowledge on immunohistochemistry technology
- Have knowledge on basic statistical analysis and methods
- Have coding experience
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Arizona is $45.00 - $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
