Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week / 40 weeks per year (TTO + 2)

Reporting into the Head of HR Business Partnering and Operations, we are seeking a proactive and organized HR Assistant to join our central HR team. You will provide essential HR support across multiple schools and shared services, assisting with recruitment, HR administration, employee relations, and HR systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your HR career within an innovative and supportive Trust.
Main Responsibilities:
- Recruitment: Support the full recruitment lifecycle for teaching and non-teaching roles, including drafting adverts, managing applications, coordinating interviews, and issuing contracts.
- HR Administration: Maintain accurate HR records, process DBS and other checks, manage employee data, and support HR reporting.
- Employee Relations: Provide advice to managers and staff on HR policies, employment terms, and wellbeing initiatives. Assist with casework preparation and documentation.
- HR Systems & Reward: Support pay reviews, reward statements, and benefits administration, including pensions.
- Team Collaboration: Act as the main HR administrative support for your HR Business Partner, contributing to Trust-wide HR projects and professional development.
Person Specification
Essential
- Professional CIPD membership or Level 3/5 qualification (or willingness to study)
- HR or administrative experience, with evidence of managing HR queries
- Strong communication, organisation, and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work flexibly across multiple sites
- Excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
Desirable:
- Experience advising managers on employee relations
- Experience conducting research, collating data, and delivering training sessions
- Ability to travel independently across Trust schools
