Accela Consulting Becomes Anakim Consulting, continues service to government and small business.

Belmont, NC - Accela Consulting, a woman-owned HUBZone certified small business is now Anakim Consulting. Anakim provides IT support services and business development expertise to the U.S. Federal Government marketplace. The firm will continue to provide information technology support, including lifecycle software development, network and infrastructure services, and cybersecurity services to the government and business development support to small businesses.

“Our new name reflects the true personality and focus of our company,“ said Mitzi Mead, CEO of Anakim Consulting. “The name Anakim is taken from a biblical race of giants and reflects our giant heart as a small business. Physically, the Anakim were described as a people by whom all others were judged. We believe that the best results come from true collaboration between government and industry and strive to provide superior customer service to our clients that set the standard. This starts with listening to our client’s needs and responding rapidly to exceed their expectations.”

Mead co-founded the firm in 2007 to provide much needed outsourced business development support to small business in the Federal marketplace. She established a second line of business providing technology services in 2015 and their growing list of Federal clients include NASA, HHS and DHS. Having assisted many government and small business entities, her company serves as an exceptional example of the power of women-owned small businesses (WOSB) operating in HUBZones.

The proud daughter of a decorated Marine Corps aviator, Mead moved around a lot growing up. When her father was deployed to Vietnam or other overseas assignments, the family returned home to Belmont, NC, where her mother’s family lived and worked in the mills. Today, that area is designated as a HUBZone and is the home of Anakim Consulting.
