About the company

Company websiteInternet Publishing

ARU was founded in 2016 and quickly established itself as the U.S. leader in poultry confinement insurance product development, underwriting, loss control, and technology. Building on those roots, the company is now known for applying underwriting discipline and commercial acumen across a wide array of high-hazard farm and agribusiness property occupancies, including hog confinement, cotton gins, and other historically challenging risks.

Today, ARU continues to invest heavily in the agricultural niche. The company recently launched the nation’s first and only E&S Farm, Ranch, and Rural Estates product and also writes up to 100% Primary lines for brokered Commercial Property placements, covering both agricultural occupancies and more traditionally commercial classes of business.

ARU’s underwriting and loss control combine granular weather metrics, proprietary technology, and niche expertise to maintain a sustainable, profitable portfolio while delivering a superior experience to policyholders. Its products and services serve a diverse network of retail producers, wholesalers, and carriers, extending beyond underwriting and loss control to include product development, operational support, and reinsurance capacity.

The company has been named a five-time consecutive winner of the Triad Business Journal’s Fast 50 Award, which recognizes the fastest-growing companies in North Carolina’s Triad region, ranking #2 in 2025. It was also honored as 2025 MGA of the Year by Insurance Insider, a 2025 Top Insurance Employer by Insurance Business America, and received PropertyCasualty360’s 2025 Luminaries Award for Risk Management Innovation.
