We are seeking a Simulation Technician for a contracted role that is full-time (40 hours) for 9 weeks during the year. In this position, you will provide on-site critical support for our physician-led certification examination in Raleigh, NC.
In this role, you will be the primary technical resource for the examining physicians on our Procedures cases during an administration. This includes ensuring the manikins are set up and ready for training day, that all supplies are available and ready for use, and that physicians are expertly trained in manikin operation. This position will fix equipment when needed at the beginning of each session and provide immediate troubleshooting during live testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Physician Training: Conduct training sessions for examining physicians to ensure they understand how to trigger manikin functions, reset scenarios, and utilize task trainers.
- Technical Assembly: Lead the physical setup and calibration of mid-fidelity manikins and clinical task trainers according to standardized exam protocols.
- Live Troubleshooting: Serve as the on-site, "on-call" technician during exams to resolve any mechanical issues immediately, ensuring no disruption to the candidate’s experience.
- Equipment Stewardship: Identify equipment issues and communicate these immediately to the Administrative Lead and Procedure Examination Case Lead. Communicate low inventory and supply needs.
- Confidentiality: Adhere to strict security protocols regarding exam content and physician/candidate interactions.
- Simulation Expertise: At least three years of experience in a healthcare simulation lab, specifically working with mid-fidelity equipment.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong ability to troubleshoot task trainer issues quickly under pressure.
- Communication: Ability to provide clear, concise technical instructions to physicians.
- Reliability: Must be available for the full administration (Sunday to Thursday). There are nine (9) administrations per year.
- Security: Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) due to the proprietary nature of the certification exams.
