As a non-profit climate protection company at the interface between business and NGOs, our main business is CO₂ offsetting by running our own renewable energy projects in countries of the global south. In addition, we advise companies in Europe and create specialized CO2 software. Our head quarter in Berlin with 40 employees, the new subsidiary in Barcelona as well as the country managers and partner companies in Europe, Asia, Africa and America form the basis for successful climate protection as a quality market leader. We develop our own renewable energy projects and tailor-made concepts as well as green energy solutions for national and international large corporate customers. In this way, we create added value for climate protection and our customers.
For our team in Barcelona, we are seeking a:
Trainee on the Job in Global Renewable Energy and Climate Protection Project Development (m/f/d)
Your mission
- You will support the sourcing, planning, and implementation of renewable energy and new technology projects. You will help identify project opportunities and suitable partners in developing countries around the world. You will gain insights into setting up and managing the technical implementation (including concept development, design, supplier selection, procurement of parts and materials, and necessary measures);
- You will ensure progress of leads, and projects and expand contacts and networks;
- You will be responsible for ensuring that the (CO2) certification (e.g. Art 6.4 and Gold Standard) are meeting goals, timelines and budgets;
- You will take on cross-sectional tasks for several CO2-offset projects;
- You will support key account management and will be in contact with customers and the sales teams.

You have...
- Above-average Bachelor's or Master's degree in (industrial) engineering, technical environmental protection, or natural sciences;
- Completed internships or initial relevant professional experience with a practical, technical focus are an advantage;
- Hands-on mentality and entrepreneurial spirit;
- Initiative, independent working style;
- Expertise and commitment in the field of environmental/climate protection;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team;
- Business fluent in English.

atmosfair is a climate protection organisation with a focus on travel. We actively protect the climate, for example by offsetting greenhouse gases with renewable energies.
Our increasingly globalised society also brings with it growing mobility, both in our professional and private lives. Despite all the advantages, the climate factor also comes into play: the earth's atmosphere can only tolerate a certain and limited amount of CO₂ until 2100. And since most modern means of transport are fuelled by fossil fuels, further growth will quickly reach climate-friendly limits.
atmosfair is taking on a role in this transformation process: there is currently no technical solution for air travel, such as problem-free biofuels or zero-emission aircraft. Just as there is already a train ticket with renewable energy today, or small hydroelectric power or wind turbines in the electricity sector, there will be a renewable solution in the aircraft industry at some point, perhaps the solar hydrogen aircraft. As long as this solution does not exist, and as long as there is no more climate-friendly alternative on the desired route, air passengers can offset the greenhouse gases of their flight with atmosfair.
Passengers voluntarily pay a climate protection contribution based on their emissions, which atmosfair uses to expand renewable energies in countries where they are still scarce, i.e. primarily in developing countries. In this way, atmosfair saves CO₂ that would otherwise have been produced by fossil fuels in these countries. At the same time, local people benefit as they often have access to clean and constantly available energy for the first time, which is essential for education and equal opportunities.
