C-Suite Partners is pleased to partner with Ramsay Health Care in the search for a General Manager, Commercial Financial Performance to drive the financial and strategic success of the Commercial Division of Ramsay Health Care Australia.


Ramsay is the leading private healthcare provider in Australia, comprising 76 hospitals, clinics, and day surgery units across the country. The healthcare business also includes 37 Ramsay Plus clinics, 3 Ramsay psychology clinics, and 102 Ramsay Pharmacies. With a dedicated workforce of 35,000 and partnerships with 9,000 doctors, Ramsay provides a wide array of services, with a particular focus on high-acuity therapeutic areas such as cardiology, orthopedics, and cancer care.


Additionally, Ramsay operate the largest private clinical trial network in Australia with 20 sites. Its success is built on strong, collaborative relationships with employees and doctors and a focus on providing modern, sustainable, and integrated healthcare services.


Reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer with a dotted line to the Chief Commercial Officer - Australia, the role partners with the commercial leadership team to drive business strategies aligned with Ramsay Health Care Australia goals. The role oversees commercial accounting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, performance monitoring and risk management. It also focuses on optimising resources, managing stakeholder relationships, and communicating strategic initiatives.


This role demands strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and market insight to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial leadership to support business growth, financial sustainability, and market positioning of the commercial division.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to drive organisational expansion.
  • Manage pricing strategies, billing models, and contractual agreements to optimise revenue generation through strategic commercial initiatives and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with finance and operational teams to optimise pricing models, cost structures, and commercial viability of hospital services.
  • Oversee the execution of commercial finance team, ensuring all strategies are implemented effectively and efficiently to meet organisational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards in all commercial activities, promoting sustainable practices aligned with Ramsay’s values and mission.


Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience managing strategic financial performance and partnering at the executive level in large, complex organisations. Experience working within ASX-listed companies highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of private health insurance models, funding mechanisms, and reimbursement structures to optimise revenue streams and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, including regulatory requirements and market dynamics, with proven ability to combine strategic thinking with data-driven analysis to deliver actionable financial insights.
  • Highly collaborative with a track record of working cross-functionally and leading a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation, and project management skills, including the ability to manage competing deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • High levels of integrity, sound judgement, and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the capability to engage credibly with executives.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in finance or management accounting, supported by CA or CPA accreditation.
