African Underground Mining Services (AUMS), currently West Africa’s largest and leading trackless underground mining contractor is seeking to recruit qualified Shift Boss to fill vacancies at the Akwaaba Underground Operations at Chirano in the Western Region of Ghana.
Location: Site Based – Chirano, Western Region of Ghana
Reports to: Site Manager
Remuneration
- Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience
- Meals provided whilst on site
- Travel provided to and from work
- Person recruited must be prepared to do a work roster of 14 days on duty and 7 days off duty however this is subject to change depending on company/client requirement
- Must be a Mining Engineer or long service Miner who has passed through all requirements and has a Shift Boss Certificate (Mine Captains Certificate will be reviewed favourably)
- Must be experienced in underground development operation including face management, ventilation circuits and services
- Must have comprehensive knowledge in the Ghana Mine & Explosives Regulations
- Must be capable of working without supervision
- Must have knowledge in the operations of all underground machine
- Must be computer literate and capable of reading and interpreting plans
- Must be conversant with industrial safety, health and environmental requirements
- Must be self motivated person and capable of meeting deadlines
- Must be knowledgeable in blasting and firing procedures including electric blasting
- Must be physically strong and capable of performing this tasks
- Must have a valid Ghanaian driving licence and capable of driving
