Duty Officers are the backbone of our disaster response serving as the dispatchers for the Red Cross Disaster Action Team. They are the steady support and command presence that guides and backs up our Disaster Action Team.
Key Responsibilities
- all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope;
- our communities are ready and prepared for disasters;
- everyone in our country has access to safe, lifesaving blood and blood products;
- all members of our armed services and their families find support and comfort whenever needed; and
- in an emergency, there are always trained individuals nearby, ready to use their Red Cross skills to save lives.

Key Responsibilities
- Receive and assess disaster calls 24/7
- Dispatch and support Disaster Action Team (DAT)
- Provide real-time guidance and resources to responders in the field
- Ensure accurate documentation and communication of events
- Coordinate with partners and leadership for larger incidents
