About Abalone Bio: Abalone Bio is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company developing antibody drugs for G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), ion channels and other membrane protein targets. Who are we looking for: Abalone Bio is seeking a collaborative and highly motivated Laboratory Coordinator to join our team to advance and support our core functional antibody discovery and development activities. The successful candidate will support lab operations and facilities. This is an opportunity to play a role in discovering and developing rare functional antibody drugs for previously untreatable diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate lab operations
  • Develop and maintain best lab operations practices
  • Collaborate with the entire team to ensure the lab runs smoothly
  • Supervise Lab Technician and work together to prepare media, reagents, and buffers
  • Monitor, maintain, and prepare inventory of materials and lab consumables, liaising with the purchasing team
  • Coordinate and perform facilities tasks
  • Manage shared laboratory equipment and support instrument maintenance
  • Support company EH&S program
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records

Qualifications

  • Education and experience
    • BS/BA degree in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology or a related field and at least 1 year of experience working in laboratory operations
    • Or 3+ years of laboratory operations experience
  • Background in media and buffer preparation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proactive and anticipatory of lab needs

Huge plus

  • Experience with facilities maintenance (e.g., plumbing, electrical) and general handi-personal skills and experience
  • Hands-on experience in molecular biology, microbial genetic engineering, and microbiology
