This position is located within the Athletic Branch, Recreation Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, US Naval Station Rota, Spain. The purpose of this position is to provide customer service and control in the operation programs and maintenance of the Fitness Center.
Duties
Help
The incumbent performs daily inspections and is responsible for the preventative maintenance of the facility and equipment to ensure all items are operating properly, safely and clean and advises supervisor of discrepancies. Operates a cash register, collects fees and is responsible of change fund. Completes required forms and reports and delivers customer service. Incumbent issues equipment for Fitness Center, Intramural Sports, Fleet Recreation and any other equipment assigned to the facility check out. Maintains daily inventories for equipment assigned. Incumbent operates from the entrance counter. Incumbent forces Fitness Center regulations IAW established policies and procedures. Incumbent takes reservations. Issues lockers to authorized patrons and maintains a log of the status of men and women locker rooms. Incumbent assists other Athletic Branch programs/activities on needed basis. Ensures all patrons are aware of safety regulations and reports any violation to the supervisor. Responsible Fitness Center and/or other Athletic Branch facilities are properly secured. Administrative usages of computer, creation list, flyers, and any other document required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Must pass all applicable records and background check.
- Incumbent must maintain a valid CPR and FIRST AID Certifications.
- Incumbent will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and split shifts.

A qualified candidate must possess:
6 months of general experience OR one (1) year of education above high school
Must be a mature individual who can effective communicate with people, apply good judgement in assessing individual needs and give clear
instructions on the proper use of the Fitness Center equipment
Must possess exceptional customer service skills
Must present a neat, clean and presentable appearance
Must have knowledge of the purpose of recreational and fitness equipment
Basic computer skills
Education
This position does not have a positive education requirement.
