About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join a leading Design Team, specializing in Low Voltage (LV) to 11kV systems. This role is central to delivering high-quality electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of LV to 11kV electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, and protection schemes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and design staff.
- Ensure designs meet regulatory, safety, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare detailed design documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Support tendering activities with technical input and design proposals.
- Drive continuous improvement in design processes and standards.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working for an Independent Connection Provider (ICP).
- Strong background in LV to 11kV system design within utilities, infrastructure, or industrial environments.
- Knowledge of design systems, protection coordination, and electrical distribution networks.
- Proficiency in design software and CAD tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
- Experience with renewable energy integration or smart grid technologies.
- Familiarity with UK Distribution Network Operator (DNO) standards.
