Are you ready to take on a role where you influence how the public and private health system strengthens safety, quality, and governance?

We are seeking a motivated and strategic professional to join the Clinical Systems Governance Unit within the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, contributing to initiatives that drive improvement across the ACT health system.

This is not a business-as-usual role — you will work at the intersection of policy, data, and system improvement, supporting transformation and providing high-quality analysis and advice to inform decision-making across a complex health environment.

Why this role stands out

  • Work on ACT-wide safety, quality, and governance priorities
  • Contribute to system reform and transformation initiatives
  • Engage across public and private health sectors, and regulatory stakeholders
  • Be part of a high-impact, fast-paced environment working closely with senior stakeholders

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Driving work that strengthens safety, quality and governance systems
  • Supporting analysis, reporting and evidence-informed decision-making
  • Working across organisations to support change and improvement initiatives
  • Contributing to key priorities shaping the future of the ACT public health system
  • Focus on how to bring real change to improve the health outcomes of those must vulnerable to poor health outcomes

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements: What you will need

  • Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated work experience in health, safety and quality, governance, change management or related discipline are highly desirable.

What You’ll Bring

You are someone who:

  • Understands healthcare systems and governance, with exposure to public and/or private sector environments
  • Brings experience in change, transformation, and system improvement initiatives
  • Thinks at a systems level, not just task level
  • Can translate data and complex issues into clear insights and actions
  • Builds strong relationships and navigates complex stakeholder environments

How to Apply: Want the full details? Please refer to the Position Description attached for full responsibilities and requirements.

Please prepare no more than a two-page cover letter that addresses the Selection Criteria, your curriculum vitae, and details for two referees (one must be a current direct supervisor).
