
Boiler/Refrigeration Shift Manager

River Point Farms is seeking a Boiler/Refrigeration Shift Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of boiler, refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, and IQF systems. This leadership role ensures optimal system performance through strategic maintenance planning, team supervision, and cross-departmental coordination. The Shift Manager serves as a technical expert and safety champion, driving operational excellence and regulatory compliance. ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise boiler and refrigeration technicians, ensuring task delegation, performance monitoring, and professional development.
- Manage installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, and IQF/freezing tunnels.
- Oversee shift operations, coordinate handovers, and ensure system uptime and reliability.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs to guide maintenance activities.
- Optimize system controls for energy efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Conduct safety inspections, enforce safety protocols, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and other regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with production, facilities, and engineering teams to align maintenance efforts with operational goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including cost-saving measures and equipment upgrades.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship in HVAC, boiler technology, refrigeration, or industrial maintenance required.
- 7+ years of experience in boiler/refrigeration systems, with 3+ years in a supervisory role.
- EPA Section 608 certification required or in progress. RETA CIRO/CARO certification or other relevant refrigeration credentials preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, PSM, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
