Amnesty International Indonesia is seeking a dedicated Community Organising Officer to support the growth, engagement, and mobilisation of Amnesty's activist network across Indonesia. The role focuses on strengthening participation in campaigns, building activists' skills through training and human rights education, and sustaining long-term engagement aligned with Amnesty's mission and campaign priorities.
About The Role
The Community Organising Officer plays a key role in supporting the development and coordination of Amnesty International Indonesia's activist network, including action groups and university chapters.
The role involves facilitating capacity-building initiatives, supporting campaign mobilisation, maintaining consistent communication with activists, and contributing to movement-building efforts across the organisation. The position also supports the implementation of relevant programmes and helps ensure that activists are effectively engaged in Amnesty's campaign priorities.
Job Purpose
Through close collaboration with colleagues, volunteers, and partners, the Community Organising Officer supports the implementation of community organising strategies across the organisation. The role ensures that activities related to activist recruitment, retention, and mobilisation are carried out effectively and in line with organisational priorities.
The position also contributes to strengthening activists' skills and engagement through training, coordination, and ongoing support, while maintaining accurate records and documentation to support programme monitoring and reporting, which are key responsibilities outlined in the role description.
About You
You have experience working with volunteers, activists, students, or community groups and are comfortable supporting engagement activities such as campaigns, trainings, events, or outreach initiatives. You are organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple activities while maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
You have the ability to motivate and support others, communicate effectively across different platforms, and maintain accurate records of activities and participants. You are comfortable facilitating discussions or trainings and supporting others to participate actively in campaigns or community initiatives.
You are collaborative, reliable, and committed to human rights values and participatory approaches.
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required. You should be comfortable supporting administrative and coordination tasks, including maintaining participant databases, preparing activity documentation, and supporting programme implementation.
