The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the critical aspects of projects including the coordination of shipping and receiving of purchased materials and components. Maintaining a clean, organized operation. Early starts, late finishes, and weekend work may be required to keep production on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive purchased products and verify against purchase order requirements
- Receive customer-supplied products and verify against customer requirements
- Generate packing slips, calculate weights, determine dimensions
- Ensure shipments are packaged according to customer requirements
- Coordinate shipments with customers and carriers
- Maintain daily shipping log
- Maintain shipping supply inventory and inventory of shop supplies
- Review and issue purchase orders
- Work in accordance with the quality management system
- Complete all applicable quality records
- Maintain production flow
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Post-secondary education in mechanical or engineering technology considered an asset
- 2 years of computer experience
- Forklift certification considered an asset
- Knowledge of shop procedures
- Material handling experience considered an asset
- Quality management system knowledge - Purchasing, receiving, shipping, inspection and testing, traceability, nonconformances, corrective and preventive action, document control, record control, purchasing
