Position Title: Hydraulic Engineer – Compactors & Pavers

Position Level: Senior Enigeer

Location: Ditasan Mehsana, Gujarat

Main Focus & Challenges

  • Focus of the position is on existing Compactor & Paver products and new product introduction from an engineering perspective.
  • The position would have the responsibility of designing hydraulic systems, which includes design, development, integration, and validation of electronic systems. The role shall include engineering and technical development right from costing, design and development, innovation for product launch through interaction with a cross-functional team of NPD, testing, and manufacturing.
  • There is an opportunity to work with the design of the product from the ground up and manage some global projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design vehicle hydraulic systems and integrate them with powertrain.
  • Command over design and selection of hydraulic components such as axial piston pumps, gear pumps, axial piston motors, gear motors, cylinders, filters, strainers, hydraulic tank aggregates, manifold blocks, etc.
  • Design closed-loop hydraulic systems.
  • Create and interpret complex hydraulic schematics for construction equipment, off-road vehicles, and mining machines.
  • Size and design hydraulic tanks.
  • Calculate and optimize hydraulic oil cooler sizing.
  • Select hydraulic hoses and fittings based on required pressure ratings.
  • Adhere to DIN, ISO, and SAE standards for hoses and fittings.
  • Apply knowledge of hydraulic systems for road construction equipment like Pavers & Compactors.
  • Implement good practices for hose routings and layouts.
  • Support failure root cause analyses and resolution through field visits, vendor interactions, and assembly line inspections for Pavers & Compactors.
  • Collaborate with Design Analysis, Simulation, and vehicle integration teams to provide input data for installation simulations.
  • Work in a team to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Manage selection, modification, and assembly of components for proto trials in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Develop and execute hydraulic system validation plans for proposed solutions.
  • Obtain approvals for fitment and assembly from external agencies and document the process.
  • Utilize software competencies in Inventor, AutoCAD, Creo, and SAP.

Qualification & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • The ideal candidate shall possess over 4 -8 years of experience in hydraulic system design function.
  • Good understanding of costing and able to manage build and budget costs with basic knowledge of production processes, ability to relate to construction equipment is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to convert conceptual ideas into finished products.
  • Exposure to working in a multinational, multicultural organization.
  • Exposure to field/customer requirements & dealing with OEMs is desirable.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software like CREO 3.0, Inventor (Autodesk), Automation Studio.
  • Skilled in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Hands-on experience in PLM/Team-Centre.
  • Experience leading/owning project deliverables on time.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Maintaining quality and standards during daily work.
  • Candidate to exhibit a sense of urgency and achieve deliverables as per the given timeline.
