Job Title: Welding Inspection Supervisor

Location: Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and regular rotation as per job requirement.

Job Summary:

The Welding Inspector is responsible for performing visual and non-destructive examinations of

welded materials and structures to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards

(including ISO 17025), and Aramco and client specifications. This role involves inspection,

accurate documentation, and the ability to interpret welding procedures and technical drawings.

The inspector will work within an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory environment, contributing to

the quality and integrity of materials testing services, and ensuring adherence to the company's

Health & Safety and Quality standards and laboratory practices.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct visual welding inspections before, during, and after welding operations of

welding procedure qualifications and welder qualifications on customer site.

• Perform and interpret non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing

(UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and dye penetrant testing (PT) as required.

• Verify weld joint preparation, fit-up, and welding parameters against approved welding

procedure specifications (WPS).

• Evaluate weld quality for defects, discontinuities, and conformance to acceptance

criteria.

• Deliver welded samples to NDT providers and to the laboratory for respective testing.

• Supervise other welding inspectors’ scheduling, review and verify welding inspection

reports, train junior welding inspectors and communicate with customers and auditors

• Interpret radiographic film (RT).

• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including inspection reports,

checklists, and test results.

• Prepare non-conformance reports (NCRs) for identified defects and deviations.

• Ensure all documentation complies with ISO 17025 requirements and internal quality

procedures.

• Generate and submit inspection reports to clients and internal stakeholders.

• Interpret welding codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, API, Aramco and ISO.

• Understand and apply welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure

qualification records (PQR).

• Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in welding inspection

technology.

• Read and understand engineering drawings.

• Communicate effectively with clients regarding inspection findings and project status.

• Address client inquiries and resolve technical issues related to welding inspection.

• Adhere to all laboratory and site safety requirements.

• Wear appropriate PPE.


Qualifications:


• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a

related field (preferred).

• Relevant certifications:

• CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector.

• NDT Level II certifications in VT, UT, MT, and PT (ASNT, PCN, or equivalent).

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in welding inspection, preferably in an ISO 17025

accredited laboratory or associated business, and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience

as welding supervisor / manager for PQR/WQT qualification testing.

• Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and NDT techniques.

• Proficiency in interpreting welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API, ISO).

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in using inspection equipment and software.

• Knowledge of ISO 17025 requirements.

• Valid driver's license.
