Mission
Almirall is looking for a senior professional expert to lead and evolve the digital landscape supporting Manufacturing and Industrial operations across production sites.
This role will be responsible for systems related to production execution, performance monitoring, weighing, maintenance management, and industrial data integration, ensuring they deliver maximum business value, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Reporting directly to the IT Service Delivery Associate Director for Industrial, this position holds end-to-end accountability for system ownership, continuous improvement, and alignment between manufacturing business needs and IT solutions.
- Acts as System Owner for assigned Manufacturing applications, ensuring lifecycle management and compliance.
- Partners with Manufacturing and Engineering leadership to translate operational needs into IT capabilities.
- Ensures IT solutions maximize production efficiency, reliability, and data accuracy.
- Defines how IT systems support Manufacturing Business Processes led by the Business Process Owners (BPOs), within projects or enhancements.
- Guarantees system availability, performance, and compliance with GxP and industrial standards.
Operational
- Support the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of Manufacturing systems including weighing process, labeling, OEE, maintenance management, automation software and collaboration with MES projects.
- Ensure proper integration between Manufacturing systems and other enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, data platforms).
- Ensure systems comply with GxP, CSV (Computer System Validation), and data integrity requirements.
- Align system evolution with manufacturing strategies, operational excellence initiatives, and digitalization roadmap.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to optimize processes and improve system usage.
- Drive automation and data-driven decision-making across manufacturing operations.
- Support and coordinate vendors and external partners for systems in scope.
- Ensure effective resolution of incidents, service requests, and system issues impacting production.
- Manage demand intake, prioritization, and delivery in collaboration with Business Process Owners.
- Document business and functional requirements with clear traceability.
- Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer to support teams.
- Apply project management and Agile methodologies for solution delivery.
- Act as the interface between IT and Manufacturing stakeholders.
- Lead workshops for requirement gathering, process improvement, and solution validation.
- Collaborate across departments (Production, Engineering, QA, Maintenance, Supply Chain).
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external providers.
- Provide visibility on initiatives, risks, and performance to senior management.
- Business
- Partner with Business Process Owners to define a Manufacturing systems roadmap aligned with business strategy.
- Support Change Management initiatives to ensure adoption of new tools and processes.
- Identify opportunities for digital transformation in manufacturing (Industry 4.0, data analytics, automation).
- Ensure systems contribute to operational excellence, efficiency, and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- ≥ 3 years of experience managing IT systems in Manufacturing or Industrial environments.
- Experience with production shopfloor systems.
- Strong background in GxP-regulated environments (pharma or life sciences preferred).
- Experience managing integrations between industrial systems and enterprise platforms.
- Proven experience in IT project delivery and stakeholder management.
- Preferably ≥ 3 years working in cross-functional teams with Manufacturing stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing systems (MES, OEE, maintenance, automation, SCADA, labeling and weighing systems).
- Experience with PAS-X or similar MES platforms
- Experience with SENTINEL or similar labeling software
- Experience with ZENON or similar automation software
- Industrial data systems and integrations
- Knowledge in systems published through Citrix
- Understanding of GxP, CSV, and data integrity.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Jira Software or similar tools.
- Languages: Spanish and English (written and spoken).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
